What is Skills for Care?

Skills for Care ensures that England’s adult social care workforce has the appropriately skilled people in the right places to deliver high quality social care. To achieve this, we focus on the values, attitudes, skills and qualifications that people need to undertake their roles. Skills for Care works with employers, whether individuals or organisations, to develop the skills of nearly 1.6 million social care workers.

With the benefits and flexibility of employing your own staff comes the responsibility of being an employer. We know this is often a new role and can be a daunting prospect, but Skills for Care can help to make the process easier to understand. We have developed a range of products to help inform and guide individual employers through their responsibilities.

You can contact Skills for Care by calling 0113 245 1716 or by sending an email to [email protected]. We have staff based in various locations across England so please ask if you would like to speak to someone in your local area.
